I quite enjoyed the Nov 6, 2010 evening event. There were quite a few first-time performers and altho they were not exactly your NAC-calibre musicians, I must give them credit for trying hard !!! Beside, that was how Dylan and the other greats started their careers - by playing at local cafes !!!
On the down side, I was less impressed with the quality of the poems presented, and I definitely found the in-praise-of Omar Khadr poem politically one-sided.
Anyway, I find Umi Cafe a great place to sit back, have a cup of chai latte, and nibble on some baked goods!!!
